Jennie McAlpine finds it "really strange" that people have been stopping her in the street for ‘Supermarket Sweep’ more than they do for ‘Coronation Street’.
The 35-year-old actress has been a ‘Corrie’ star since 2001, playing Fiz Stape, but since landing the part of Tannoy announcer on the revamped game show she has been surprised at how the public have reacted.
She said: "It’s really strange. People keep stopping me in the street.
"More people are stopping me for ‘Supermarket Sweep’ than they are for ‘Corrie’."
Jennie recently returned to the cobbles after being on maternity leave to have her second child, 11-month-old daughter Hilda, and she says life has been "chaos" since she and husband Chris Farr added to their brood.
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star – who also has four-year-old Albert with Chris – said: "I don’t really know where I am from one day to the next.
"We have a rota pinned up on the fridge showing who is where at what time."
Jennie and Chris have been so busy they rarely get time to go out for dates together nowadays, but the couple do sometimes manage to grab a hot chocolate on a bench outside Albert’s school.
Speaking to new! magazine, she added: "The idea of dolling myself up and going out is really hard work.
"There’s a bench right by Albert’s school and sometimes we get a hot chocolate and sit on it for minutes before pick-up.
"If you can call that a date, we do that."
