Coronation Street’s Jennie McAlpine has joined ‘Supermarket Sweep’.
The 35-year-old actress – who plays Fiz Brown in the ITV soap – will lend her voice to the rebooted game show as she takes control of the tannoy while the celebrity guests and members of the public fight to bag some cash and impressive prizes.
She said: "I am so giddy to be a part of the new ‘Supermarket Sweep’ team!
"The original show was an absolute favourite in our house, and with Rylan [Clark-Neal] at the helm I know this is going to be such fun!"
The series will see some familiar faces as This Morning’s Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, The Only Way is Essex’s Pete Wicks and Bobby Norris, Love Island’s Maura Higgins and Tommy Fury, Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson and Made in Chelsea’s Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo will be stopping by for an aisle dash.
Rylan Clark-Neal was announced as the host of the forthcoming show – which was presented by the late Dale Winton from 1993 until 2007 – last month.
Rylan took to his Twitter account to confirm that some of the old favourites from original episodes have managed to wiggle their way into the new version.
He wrote: "Some facts about #SupermarketSweep

‘Supermarket Sweep’ sees players enter a store where three teams of two go head-to-head using their skills and knowledge of merchandise to win cash prizes.
But players must also answer pop culture questions and solve puzzles based on the products and merchandise found in the supermarkets around the world.
The show concludes in an all-or-nothing trolley dash, where the successful team have to beat the clock and hunt down items hidden among the supermarket aisles.
‘Supermarket Sweep’ will air on September 8 at 8pm on ITV2.
