Jean-Christophe Novelli is to be a father again.
The 55-year-old chef is elated that partner Michelle Kennedy will give birth to their third son – a sibling for Jean, seven, and Jacques, three, as well as half-sibling for his daughter Christina, 30 – in September.
He told HELLO! magazine: "I have always loved the idea of having three boys. I don’t know why, it’s what I’ve always wanted. We are both very, very excited and feel so blessed."
And the TV star isn’t worried about being an older parent.
He said: "When the new baby is 20, I will be 75 but I don’t see it that way. Age is just a number at the end of the day."
Though the couple are elated by the news, Michelle, 40, admits her pregnancy came as a shock.
She said: "I was at work and then I suddenly felt nauseous. I never get sick and I thought, ‘No, it can’t be.’
"I went to get a pregnancy test and thought, ‘Oh my goodness, how the hell did that happen?’ Only two weeks before I’d been skiing nearly every day.
"I didn’t tell Jean for a couple of days, I was trying to get my head around it. When I did eventually tell him, he jumped up in the air, singing and dancing."
The couple have been together for 10 years and engaged for eight, and now, after finally booking their wedding for August 2017, they may now postpone their big day because of the new addition.
Michelle said: "We’ll both have Zimmer frames by the time we get round to it. We will do it but organising a wedding is right at the bottom of my to-do list to be honest."
