Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini has been asked to do this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The French businessman – who was married to Cheryl Tweedy from 2014 until their divorce in 2016 – was offered a mega-money deal to take part in the creepy-crawly show but he turned it down because he wants to focus on his restaurant rather than make a name for himself as a reality television star.
Speaking to new! magazine, he said: "It’s funny, huh? I’ve been asked to do the… I think it’s happening in the jungle. That’s not what I aspire to do. I’m a businessman, not a reality star."
This isn’t the first time Jean-Bernard – who is known by his nickname JB – was approached for the programme as they also reached out to him last year because they were hoping he’d dish the dirt on his marriage with Cheryl, who is now in a relationship with One Direction hunk Liam Payne.
A source said previously: "When he was with Cheryl he shunned the limelight but now he’s single he wants to build up his reputation [in the UK].
"He wants to get himself on screen as is in talks to get onto a big ITV show. I’m sure the guys behind ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ would love to have him on board and JB may consider that. JB is a businessman and he’s always looking for different opportunities but whether Cheryl would be very keen on the ideas is doubtful – after all, it hasn’t been the easiest of break ups and the pair are technically still married."
Meanwhile, producers are remaining tight-lipped on who will be heading into the Australian outback for the next series later this year, but it’s believed Gemma Collins – who hit the headlines in 2014 when she walked out of the jungle after just 72 hours because of "health issues" – will take part again.
