Union J’s Jaymi Hensley hopes George Shelley will do a reunion tour with them one day.
The ‘Carry You’ hitmaker doesn’t want to see his former bandmate – who quit the boyband earlier this year to pursue a career in broadcasting – give up on his singing talents and would have no problem with him joining them on the road in the future.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the 25th anniversary dinner of HIV charity Positive East at London’s Beaufort House on Thursday night (08.09.16), the 26-year-old singer said: "I would love us all to get back together one day and do a reunion tour. He is my little brother and I’d love him to still do music. I wouldn’t want him to turn his back on that."
The group – also comprised of Josh Cuthbert, J.J. Hamblett – recruited former Stereo Kicks star Casey Johnson to replace George, 23, and are currently working on music for their first album without the ‘Capital FM’ presenter.
J.J. previously teased that it is inspired by Justin Bieber.
He said: "We’ve started in the studio and are working with some great writers.
"We are going over to America next month to record and just basically to try and find the right song to release.
"We’ve got some really exciting news coming out next month but I can’t give it away. But you’ll know very, very shortly. It’s just something we didn’t expect. We’ve got to think like Justin Bieber.
"He came back and nobody can deny that they love those songs and that’s what we want to do."
The foursome have teased that they are working on a song, which is different to what fans have grown to expect and they hope it will give them a bigger audience.
J.J. added :"It’s slightly different but it’s just a hit.
"It’s just a great song which will hopefully broaden out into a wider market and a bigger audience."
