Jason Watkins will be starring in a new detective series for ITV.
The ‘Crown’ actor is set to team up with ‘Cold Feet’ star Tala Gouveia as DS Dodds and DCI McDonald in ‘Invisible’, a new series of feature-length stories set in Bath.
The first outing for the show will feature two stories, the first of which will explore a greed-fuelled murder in upper class society, while the second will probe an unexplained death in a private hospital for recovering addicts.
Mammoth Screen boss Damien Timmer – who will executive produce – said: "With the city of modern Bath as the backdrop to their double act, and with Robert’s scripts which crackle with wit, modernity and cleverness, I’m confident viewers will be gripped as they investigate their first intriguing cases together."
Jason’s detective character is described as a quiet and unassuming man with a talent for deciphering puzzles, while Tala’s DCI McDonald, who has transferred from London is ambitious and a "tough, driven, battering ram of a cop who cracks cases through sheer force of will".
Damien added: "We’re delighted to have Tala Gouveia and Jason Watkins on board to bring the McDonald and Dodds to life.
