Jared Leto caused the whole cast of ‘Suicide Squad’ to stop working when he appeared on set in costume as The Joker.
The Oscar-winning star left his colleagues speechless when he arrived on set for the first time after coming out of make-up as the green-haired supervillain.
Filmmaker David Ayer said: "When Jared steps onto the set the world stops. Everything stops. What Jared has done is absolutely incredible. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating."
However, Viola Davis – who plays a government agent in charge of the squad in the movie – believes the cast were initially gobsmacked because the first time they saw Jared in costume, he walked in with a dead animal clasped under his arm and put it on a table before leaving again.
She said previously: "The henchman came in with a dead pig and plopped it on the table and then he walked out. And that was our introduction to Jared Leto. Now I’m terrified just as a person thinking ‘Is he crazy?’ But the second part was, ‘Oh s**t, I’ve got to have my stuff together.’ "
