Jane McDonald wants her own fly-on-the-wall reality TV show.
The former cruise ship singer is certain a series following her personal life with fiance Eddie Rothe could be the big thing in the genre.
As reported by the Daily Star, she said: "I’d love to do a reality show with Eddie. It would be like a rom-com. The cameras really need to film us – we’re hilarious."
The 55-year-old star – who became famous after BBC documentary ‘The Cruise’ 20 years ago – has even pitched her idea to TV bosses already, in a bid to land a slot on air.
Her series ‘Cruising with Jane McDonald’ was honoured at the British Academy Television Awards earlier this year, and she recently revealed she was left "spooked" by a visit to New Zealand for the programme.
She found a surprising link between her heritage and Dunedin – the city known as "the Edinburgh of the South" – whilst filming for the show.
She explained to RadioTimes.com: "Lots of people from Scotland emigrated to that part of New Zealand and I visited a stately home called Larnach Castle where a bagpiper was wearing Ferguson tartan, which is my tartan because my mother is a Ferguson.
"I felt quite spooked!"
The show has seen Jane take a Christmas cruise through Europe, a wildlife cruise in Iceland and see the glitz and glamour of Hollywood with a Californian cruise.
And she believes that her current programme is so successful because she doesn’t follow any scripts.
She revealed previously: "I said please don’t give me scripts, just bring the camera and we’ll make it up. And it couldn’t have turned out better."
