Jamie Lee Curtis is terrified of "liars".
The 59-year-old actress recently reprised her role as Laurie Strode in the reboot of the classic horror movie franchise ‘Halloween’ – after she starred in the role in the original 1978 movie of the same name – but has said her biggest fear in real life isn’t psycho killers, but people who don’t tell the truth.
When asked what scares her the most, Jamie said: "Liars. People who pretend to be one thing and mean another. Somebody who says ‘This is orange juice’, and you’re like, ‘No, it’s water’. But there are people in my country, if they say this is orange juice long enough, you’ll believe it’s orange juice. That scares the s**t out of me terribly – we’re at a time in the world where there are some people who say one thing and mean completely the other."
But although she’s terrified of untrustworthy people, she won’t be making any liar-based Halloween costumes for her children – daughter Annie, 31, and son Thomas, 22, whom she has with husband Christopher Guest – as she claims they enjoy more "obscure" get-ups for the spooky holiday.
Asked how she celebrates Halloween (31.10.18) herself, she said: "I’ve raised two children. I’ve made more Halloween costumes than any other person I know. I can operate a sewing machine. My son likes very obscure costumes. He’s a gamer, so he wants to be weird characters from video games. I made a Vivi from ‘Final Fantasy’ costume once."
One thing the family won’t be doing when Halloween rolls around next week, is watching any of the ‘Halloween’ movies.
Jamie told Notebook magazine: "Nobody [in my family] watches ‘Halloween’. We don’t sit around and watch movies that I’m in, like, ‘Hey kids, come on in, we’re watching ‘Perfect’! Look, that’s me, there I am again!’ You know, my children are over it. My husband is over it. The last thing they want is to talk about me."
