Jamie Laing and Spencer Matthews have joined Channel 4’s ‘Hunted’.
The ‘Made In Chelsea’ regular and his former co-star are taking part in the survival-style reality show which sees teams of two set off from their homes to live as fugitives on the run from a team of experts made up of ex police and intelligence professionals.
Jamie, 28, took to Twitter on Thursday (29.06.17) to announce that both he and Spencer, 27, were "on the run" from the experts as part of the show, and appealed for his followers to support them.
He wrote: "Hey everyone! @SpencerMatthews & I are ‘on the run’ for Channel 4’s #Hunted. If you see us come and say Hi, and tweet a pic!"
But fans were dubious of his tweet, claiming it could be the work of the experts tracking them down, who are known for hacking into social media in order to find their target’s location.
Speculation of the tweet’s authenticity was heightened after the Twitter account for ‘Hunted’ offered a number for people to call if they had seen the reality stars.
They wrote: "Seen Spencer and/or Jamie in or around #LeamingtonSpa? Call us on 0208 222 4912 or [email protected] and be part of the action! #Hunted (sic)"
‘Hunted’ first hit TV screens back in 2015 when 14 ordinary people were tasked with going on the run in a bid to see who can travel throughout the UK for 28 days without being tracked down by the team of experts, with a chance to win a share of a prize of £100,000.
Where possible the professionals use cyber expertise and interrogation tactics on family and friends, whilst other methods used in real life such as CCTV and ANPR cameras are replicated for the show.
The news of Jamie’s involvement in a new series of the show comes after he mysteriously took to twitter on June 18 to let his 941,000 followers know that he was taking a two week break from his social media accounts.
He tweeted: "Hey everyone, so from tomorrow for 2 weeks I’ll be out of contact on social media. Just wanted to let you know x"
He broke his social media silence just a day later (19.06.17) when he tweeted: "Here goes nothing…"
Meanwhile Spencer opted to remain silent about his involvement in Hunted, and simply re-tweeted Jamie’s latest tweet which called for fans to greet them on the road.
Meanwhile, the Twitter account for the show has also claimed it is on the lookout for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ winner Jay McGuinness, and his former The Wanted band mate Siva Kaneswaran.
