Jamie Borthwick has predicted Ben Mitchell will make an ‘EastEnders’ comeback.
The 24-year-old actor – who plays Jay Brown – has admitted he would love his former co-star Harry Reid to return to Albet Square after his character fled to France at the start of the year.
Harry can now be seen at Leonard Vole in Agatha Christie’s ‘Witness for the Prosecution’ at the London County Hall, and Jamie has kept in touch
He told Digital Spy: "Of course I would like to see Ben back. Harry has been very busy doing his play, which is fantastic.
"I’ve already seen it twice and I’m going to see it once more before he finishes next month. Then who knows? Watch this space."
After his current eight month run on stage comes to an end, Harry will appear as Daldini in ‘Cinderella’ at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, Kent over the festive season.
However, Jamie insisted his on-screen brother has to come back after leaving under "unexplained" circumstances following a failed attempt to steal money from Aidan Maguire.
He added: "Ben left in a way that was kind of unexplained.
"I suppose he’s got to come back at some point, whether it’s now or whether it’s in two years or three years. But of course I’d love to have him back."
Last year, Harry himself stayed tight lipped about plans for his exit but admitted he would "love" to return if he had the chance.
He told BANG Showbiz: ""I don’t know whether I’m killed off or not but I’d love to come back if he’s alive. It’s been difficult filming the final scenes."
