James Van Der Beek has claimed he’s still learning how to balance his time as a father of four – despite having a fifth child on the way.
The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star has Olivia, seven, Joshua, five, Annabel Leah, four, and Emilia, 23 months, with his wife Kimberly – who is currently pregnant with the couple’s fifth child – and he admits he finds it "tricky" to give each of his brood the "one-on-one time" they need.
Sharing a selection of pictures of a day out with his third child Annabel Leah on Instagram on Tuesday (06.03.18), James wrote: "Trickiest thing with multiple kids is carving out one-on-one time with each of them… but it’s SO important. Had a million things I wanted to get done today, but ultimately, none it would have held a candle to watching my #3 thrive when asked something she’s rarely ever asked: What do YOU want to do? #DivideAndConquer#DivideAndInspire (sic)"
James’ wife Kimberly also shared snaps from their ‘Yes Day’ – in which they would agree to any of their daughter’s demands for the day – on her Instagram story, revealing Annabel’s requests consisted of pony rides, train rides and chocolate.
The 40-year-old ‘CSI: Cyber’ actor announced he would be becoming a father of five at the end of last month when he took to social media to share a picture of Kimberly laying on a bed, with their four children cradling her burgeoning baby bump.
He captioned the photo: "Thrilled beyond belief to announce that we are once again adding to our family . And I say "beyond belief" because some people are probably wondering if we’re out of our minds. Which we might very well be… but I couldn’t be more excited. Or grateful. Or in awe of @vanderkimberly (sic)"
James and Kimberly married in August 2010, just months after James’ divorce to first wife Heather McComb was finalised.
