James Moore snubbed soaps before Emmerdale casting

James Moore didn’t watch soaps until he landed a part in ‘Emmerdale’.
The soap newcomer wasn’t a big viewer of the ITV show and its rivals ‘Coronation Street’, ‘Hollyoaks’ and ‘EastEnders’ because he always used to think they are "all the same kinds of drama" – but he has been "blown away" since he tuned into the goings on in the Dales.
He said: "I got the audition and then I was like, ‘Right I better start watching ‘Emmerdale’.’
"I have never really watched soaps before – I always had a stereotypical view of soaps that they’re all the same kinds of drama.
"But then I watched ‘Emmerdale’ and I was instantly blown away by how good everyone was – the acting is amazing, the storylines are incredibly well written and coming in, I watched a bit, but I still didn’t really have a grasp because there’s so much going on all the time.
"I watch it now and I am still like, ‘I don’t know this storyline or what is going on.’ "
James has joined the soap as Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) long-lost son Ryan Stocks – and he managed to land the part just two weeks after getting himself an agent.
He told Mirror Online: "Earlier this year I just started emailing agents with this film that I’d done saying, ‘Hey. What’s up? I’m looking for representation.’
"And then YAFTA (The Yorkshire Academy of Film & Television Acting) actually in the building just over the road, got back to me and they signed me.
"Two weeks later they called me in and said Emmerdale want to see you. Two weeks."
