James Martin and Anita Rani join This Morning

James Martin and Anita Rani are set to host ‘This Morning’ every Friday throughout the summer.
The pair will begin their presenting duties this week (22.07.16) in replace of Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who are standing in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield Monday to Friday, and can’t wait to get stuck in to their new role on the award-winning show.
James, 44, said: "It’s such a privilege to be asked back to do it again, I have a great time there."
Anita, 38, added: "I’m so excited to be joining the fantastic team at ‘This Morning’. What a brilliant way to spend Fridays over the summer."
Although James has presented the show before on numerous occasions and he used to host his own BBC programme ‘Saturday Kitchen’, he has admitted he’s still riddled with nerves when he stands in front of the camera.
He said: "It can be nerve wracking at times because you’re always a little unsure about what could happen next! I can handle the food items and talk about that no problem, but to go from such light and shade topics… it’s one of the toughest gigs in television without a shadow of a doubt and you realise what pros they are that do this job. But I’ll do my best, as that’s all I’ve done for the last 20 years!"
And Anita can’t wait to pick James’ brains for culinary tips.
She said: "Many hours of my life – certainly when I was a student – have been spent watching this daytime TV institution, so I genuinely cannot wait to see what’s in store over the coming weeks. And I’ll use the opportunity to pick James Martin’s brilliant cooking brain for top tips and get misty-eyed over Yorkshire with him. Roll on Friday!"
