James Jordan is finding ‘Dancing On Ice’ training "weird" because he’s not used to being told what to do.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional used to get frustrated with his celebrity partners when they were rehearsing for the show but now he understands what they were going through because he’s been getting put through his paces by his skating partner Alexandra Schauman and the show’s coaches.
He said: "The kind of thing I used to get angry at my celebrities for on ‘Strictly’, I’m having my partner get angry at me about, so it’s really funny.
"I know the answers, I know it’s wrong what I’m doing but I can’t stop myself doing it,which is really weird being on the other side, it’s really weird in many ways."
But the 40-year-old dancer has "fallen in love" with skating and is determined to go as far as possible on the show.
Speaking at The Sun’s Military Awards at Banqueting House in London last night (14.12.18), he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It’s totally different. I could stand here all day and tell you the differences, many many but I love it. I’ve actually fallen in love with ice skating and I didn’t think I would because it’s not the sort of thing I’ve ever thought to say to my mates, ‘Come on let’s go ice skating’ so yeah I’m really loving it, enjoying the whole process and just wanna be as good as I can be really, I’m very competitive."
James is thankful he doesn’t have to spend as much time training for ‘Dancing On Ice’ as he used to for ‘Strictly’ – and his wife Ola Jordan is just relieved he’s got a reason to give her some space.
James said: "When we were on ‘Strictly’ as professionals we trained, doing all the pro numbers whereas I’m just doing my thing with my professional so I’m gone for like three to four hours a day but it’s hard."
Ola quipped: "And it’s lovely to have him out the house… It’s good, I love it."
