James Haskell leaves I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

James Haskell has been booted from ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 34-year-old retired rugby star became the fourth star to leave the ITV reality series during Tuesday’s (03.12.19) episode, after he received the least amount of votes from the public.
And following his eviction, James became "quite emotional" as he hugged his fellow campmates goodbye.
Speaking to show hosts Ant and Dec after the news was announced, he said: "You know what, I got quite emotional. Jacqueline started crying, Ian had tears in his eyes, and I thought ‘there’s no way I’m going to well up here’, and I did. I discovered a deep dark set of emotions."
James lasted 18 days in the jungle, and came as the fourth eviction after Adele Roberts, Andrew Maxwell, and Cliff Parisi were all booted from the series.
But despite not winning the show, the rugby star still achieved what he set out to do on the series, which was to challenge himself.
He said: "I’ve been playing rugby for the last 18 and a half years, and for once I had a break and I wanted to reset my life, and this was the perfect kind of platform to do it.
"I’ve learned a lot about myself in terms of challenges and hardships, I can actually deal with quite well. Starving me, I don’t think was a good experience, but I found also I quite enjoyed helping other people. That was my biggest kind of thing that I really enjoyed."
Although James formed close friendships with the likes of football star Ian Wright whilst in the jungle, he would like to see actress Jacqueline Jossa crowned Queen of the Jungle during the final on Sunday (08.12.19).
When asked who he’d like to see win, he said: "I think Jacqueline. I think she came in here wanting to do this for herself, and I think she wanted to prove people wrong, and I think she’s had a bit of a hard time."
