James Haskell is in talks to join ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 34-year-old former rugby star could be set to head into the jungle later this year to take part in the ITV reality show, as he’s believed to be in advanced talks with producers of the show.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, producers hope James – who is married to Chloe Madeley, the daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan – will be full of anecdotes about his in-laws, as well as the Royal Family, as he and Chloe attended Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s wedding in May last year.
A TV source told the publication: "Producers think James would be a great addition. They have made him a decent offer and are hopeful he will sign up.
"Being a top-class sportsman means he’ll be full of stories of the dressing room and what goes on behind closed doors.
"They also hope he’ll shed light on having Richard and Judy as his in-laws – and his friendship with Prince Harry."
James retired from his role as a flanker for England in May this year after earning 77 caps for his country, and last week revealed he is training to become a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter.
The sports star has signed up with MMA’s Bellator, and will join the heavyweight division in the combat sport.
Sharing a picture of himself in Bellator branded clothing on social media, he wrote: "Soooooooo! This is happening @bellator.europe. The journey begins and I could not be more excited. @shootfightersofficial is now my new home. (sic)"
Bellator also posted the picture and wrote: "Welcome to the team, @jameshask. The international rugby star is set to compete in the Bellator heavyweight division!
"After finishing up a stellar 17-year professional rugby career, @jameshask has officially made the jump to MMA.Who’s excited for his Bellator debut? #Haskell2020. (sic)"
James’ first MMA fight is "expected to take place during the first half of 2020".
