James Dunmore is planning to crawl through mud, throw himself into icy water and climb up challenging obstacles for 12 miles in order to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star has agreed to take part in the Tough Mudder challenge, which is an obstacle course designed to test physical strength, stamina, and mental grit, in September in the hope of finding a cure for the genetic condition.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "There’s enough time to train I think. There are a few people in my team that aren’t even planning on training. I’m doing it for Cystic Fibrosis. They’re a charity close to my heart. Within in my family, there’s been a few incidents. It’s a close family member. It’s an amazing charity."
The 25-year-old hunk is also hoping to rope in his close friend Josh ‘JP’ Patterson – who is currently expecting a baby with his co-star Binky Felstead – to the event.
He explained: "I’m very happy for JP and Binky. He’s one of my close friends. I’m hoping to persuade him to do Tough Mudder. I think he will do it actually. It’ll be fun."
James has always been into his exercise but he is now taking his diet very seriously after his girlfriend Lucy Watson transitioned into veganism at the beginning of last year.
He said: "I’m not fully vegan but I have changed my ways considerably. She’s happy that I’ve made changes. I don’t see why I wouldn’t want my children raised as vegans. When you know as much as I do now from going out with Lucy and watching documentaries, it is probably the best way to be. It’s a healthier lifestyle. A lot of animals are saved."
Hundreds of locals joined James as he took part in a free training event as Tough Mudder transforms London’s Mudchute to Mudderchute for one day only to kick off their 2017 season. Join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #EscapeTheOrdinary.
