James Argent keen to appear in The Only Way Is Essex special

James ‘Arg’ Argent would love to appear in ‘The Only Way Is Essex’s 10th anniversary special.

The 32-year-old TV star – who was one of the original cast members of the show – thinks an anniversary special wouldn’t work without him, but Arg doesn’t intend to return on a full-time basis.

He said: "I’m proud to say I was on it from day one and I feel like it’s my baby but in terms of coming back and being a full-time cast member, I think that chapter in my life has closed.

"There is talk of a 10-year anniversary reunion and I don’t feel like you can have one unless I’m in it, right?"

Although Arg doesn’t want to return to the show permanently, he hasn’t turned his back on TV entirely.

He told The Sun newspaper: "There are certain TV shows that I would enjoy and would be good for me.

"With something like ‘Dancing on Ice’, you get fit, you learn a new skill you perform and entertain – that would be perfect for me or ‘Strictly’.

"I’m an entertainer and performer. I’ll avoid shows that are more focused on drama and rowing."

Arg recently thanked his former ‘TOWIE’ co-star Mark Wright for encouraging him to fight his cocaine addiction.

The TV star revealed Mark, 33, helped him to pay to attend a rehab centre in Thailand.

He said: "Mark is my best friend. He’s always been there through my ups and downs.

"He has always given me tough love. Throughout the whole of December he was begging me to go into rehab, but I had given up hope and didn’t want to stop.

"I rung him up on Boxing Day and said I can’t do this anymore. Every time you relapse the relapses get worse and worse.

"It was the first time I actually thought I’m actually close to death. If I didn’t sort myself out, I could have died. He went out of his way to get me into a rehab in Thailand and helped me with the financial side of things.

"I am forever grateful. I am lucky to have friends like that."
