Jake Wood loses Strictly Come Dancing bet

Jake Wood lost a £500 bet after being voted off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last night (14.12.14).

The 42-year-old actor left the dance contest after landing himself in the bottom two alongside reality star Mark Wright and has been dealt two blows at once having also lost a bet to fellow ‘EastEnders’ star, Danny Dyer.

He admitted: "Me and Danny have a little bet going on so I owe him £500.

"But that is all I will say on that. If Danny fancies it I am sure they would have him on the show. I would like to see his rumba!"

Although his pockets might be sore from the loss, Jake – who is known for playing Max Branning in the BBC One soap – said he is proud of reaching the competition’s semi-final and praised his dance partner Janette Manrara who taught him how to groove.

He continued: "It’s a huge disappointment to go out in the semi-finals but for a 42-year-old dad of two, who’s never danced before, Janette has worked wonders.

"It’s been a real privilege to watch her work and she’s so passionate about what she does that it’s infectious.

"I am so pleased I did the show. I am known as Max Branning, so it’s lovely to show a different side to me."

Despite having been one of the favourites to win with several high scoring numbers throughout the series, the star revealed he doesn’t plan on keeping up his dancing skills.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he added: "It has been amazing but I think I will hang up my dancing shoes."
