Jake Quickenden says he will strip on ‘Hollyoaks’ if it means he can stay on the soap longer.
The former ‘Dancing on Ice’ star has joined the Channel 4 soap on a short-term deal as builder Woody, who appeared for the first time on last night’s (23.10.19) first-look E4 episode wearing nothing but an open vest on his top half.
During Jake’s appearance on ‘Good Morning Britain’, co-host Kate Garraway told him: "Can I just say, you are building towards some stripping role here. Ben’s not wrong, you’ve got a super slow-mo going on."
Ben Shephard said: "When’s the stripping scene?"
Jake said: "Tune into Channel 4.
"If they keep me in the show I’ll do anything. So I will strip."
Jake admits he felt "nervous" when he was watching his ‘Hollyoaks’ debut last night, and was anticipating receiving "some grief" on social media.
He added: "[It’s] so surreal because I’ve done the reality stuff but there’s only so much longevity in that.
"’Hollyoaks’ came to watch and then they offered me this little role. It was really surreal. "I was nervous, I was sat at home with my girl and I was terrified because you’re always going to get a bit of grief on Twitter."
Jake recently admitted he has found it "hard to be taken seriously" as an actor because of his reality TV background.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Coming in to do the acting I just wanted to be taken seriously.
"It’s hard to be taken seriously when you’ve done a lot of reality stuff.
"People look at you like a reality star. Fair enough, I’ve done a lot, I take my hat off to it, I love it and it’s got me to where I am.
"But I’m a lot more than that."
