Jake Quickenden wants to land a role in ‘Emmerdale’.
The former ‘X Factor’ contestant will be appearing as Prince Charming in the pantomime production of ‘Peter Pan – A Musical Adventure’ this festive season and has admitted he’s now got the bug for acting and would like to join a soap in the future.
Speaking to new! magazine, he said: "I’m excited to turn my hand to a bit of acting. It’s a new thing. I’ve been taking acting lessons in Manchester because I wanted to try my hand at a bit of acting anyway. I usually only dance when I’m drunk and I probably can’t be drunk for any of the shows, so that will be different.
"I’m not Leonardo DiCaprio but I’m sure I can work towards that and give it a good go. I’d love to [do soap acting]. Soap acting would be brilliant. I’m definitely up for a bit of brunching out and doing a stint on ‘Emmerdale’."
Jake’s new job comes just weeks after he proposed to his girlfriend Danielle Fogarty.
He said recently: "I had a whole speech prepared, but as soon as I opened the ring box I was blubbing and I couldn’t speak. I didn’t even ask Danielle to marry me, but luckily she said ‘Yes’ when she saw the ring – and then she started crying too."
Jake and Danielle have been dating for almost three years, after meeting at the ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!’ wrap party in 2014, which Jake starred in with her dad.
