Jake Bugg: My family sometimes feel like fans

Jake Bugg says his family sometimes feel like fans and treat him differently because he’s a musician.
The 22-year-old singer/songwriter claims his loved ones can look at him "in a different light" because of his fame and success and don’t treat him like a normal member of the family.
Speaking to Q magazine, he said: "I feel like because of what I do it sometimes makes me feel distant because they’re not treating me as a family member, they’re treating me as ‘Jake the singer’. It’s weird, your own family look at you in a different light. They’re like fans and that can be difficult, If you haven’t got that, who do you go and speak to when you need to? It’s pretty tough, but at the same time people will go, ‘Well, you’re travelling around the world making loads of money…’ so you can’t complain because you get all that s**t.
"Maybe it was subconscious that all the (new) tracks veer on the side of loneliness. I didn’t sit down and think, ‘Right, I’m going to write an album that make me look really lonely."
Jake – who will release his third album ‘On My One’ this June – has been fortunate enough to meet many of his musical idols since achieving chart success.
The ‘Gimme the Love’ singer was thrilled to discover people like The Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick Jagger are just "human".
Talking about meeting Mick four years ago, he said: "He was lovely. But at the same time you realise he’s also just human. It’s like. ‘I’m just going to the toilet’. Alright, mate!"
