Jake Bugg: Everybody gets number ones now

Jake Bugg says any artist can "get a number one now".
The 22-year-old singer – who secured a number one in the UK with his self-titled debut album in October 2012 – doesn’t worry about where he places in the charts as he thinks it’s much easier to secure the top spot now.
He told BBC Music: "Anyone can get a number one now. You only have to sell, like, 20,000 albums or something.
"If you speak to another band and you say, ‘Oh, I had a number one album,’ they’ll be like, ‘yeah, so did we, and John had one last week as well.’ It’s not really an achievement any more. You know, the charts are the charts. I can’t really get excited about anything I see in them."
The ‘On My One’ hitmaker previously revealed he won’t ask another artist to collaborate with him and instead expects them to come to him.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "Most of the people of I’d like to collaborate with probably aren’t alive anymore. We’ll just have to wait and see. I’m not the kind of person to go asking people. If people want to ask me and they have a pretty decent idea then I’ll maybe be up for it."
Meanwhile, Jake previously revealed his family sometimes treat him differently because he’s a musician.
He shared: "I feel like because of what I do it sometimes makes me feel distant because they’re not treating me as a family member, they’re treating me as ‘Jake the singer’. It’s weird, your own family look at you in a different light. They’re like fans and that can be difficult. If you haven’t got that, who do you go and speak to when you need to? It’s pretty tough, but at the same time people will go, ‘Well, you’re travelling around the world making loads of money…’ so you can’t complain because you get all that s**t."
