Jack P. Shepherd plans to wear his socks inside out during a ‘Coronation Street’ scene just to tease a viewer.
The 32-year-old actor – who has played David Platt on the cobbles for 20 years – has joked around with a fan of the ITV soap who noticed he’d had an innocent wardrobe malfunction in scenes which aired last week.
The viewer tweeted: "David’s socks are stressing me out!! They are inside out! (sic)"
Jack replied and insisted he was going to do it again.
He wrote: "Sorry I didn’t realise, but next time I’m on set, I’m gonna do it again. Just for you Ashleigh.
"You can’t stop me. No one can stop me. Prepare to be stressed out. It’s coming…. (sic)"
Jack recently admitted he struggles to get through any scenes with Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) or Peter Gunn (Brian Packham) because they "always" get the giggles.
He said: "We always crack up, with most of the cast actually.
"I can’t look at Simon Gregson. If I look into his eyes, I’ll just die.
"And Peter Gunn – forget keeping a straight face with him."
Julia Goulding (Shona Platt) added: "Alan Halsall [Tyrone Dobbs] is another one."
Jack also admitted if he had to portray another character on the cobbles he would go for Dev Alahan, because he loves what Jimmi Harkishin does with his scripts.
He added: "If you could see the scripts that Jimmi gets and what he does with it, it’s completely different.
"He invents a language – it’s insane and absolutely brilliant. I love him."
