Jack P. Shepherd sets up casting agency

Jack P. Shepherd has set up a casting agency.

The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who plays bad boy David Platt – already owns a performing arts school and has now launched a career as a talent agent.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "It’s a win-win situation for Jack because he’s already a big name in telly, so theatre and TV producers will be very keen to deal with him.

"Owning the theatre school is clever. Parents pay him to teach their kids to act and, if they’re any good, he can get them a shot at the big time and receive a fee."

The 26-year-old hunk has starred in the ITV soap since April 2000 and he’s now keen to explore other career avenues in case his time on the popular show was to come to an end in the near future.

The source added: "He has been in ‘Corrie’ since he was a kid but he’s wise enough to know nothing lasts for ever in showbiz.

"The theatre school and casting agency are designed with an eye on the future in case he ever gets the boot from ‘Coronation Street.’ "

Jack will launch the casting agency next month.

Meanwhile, his 13 Performing Arts School in Manchester, which takes on children aged from three to 17, puts on two shows a year and gives students the opportunity to take exams in drama as well.
