Jack P Shepherd jokes he’s appearing in Emmerdale

Jack P. Shepherd told a fan he was appearing on ‘Emmerdale’ last night (01.05.19) after he was mistaken for a star of the ITV soap.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who has portrayed cobbles favourite David Platt since 2000 – made a nod to the rival soap’s farming heritage by joking he was going to "feed a pig some bacon" on a "great episode" of the programme.
Jack took to Instagram Stories to post a screenshot of the conversation, which began when the supporter asked: "Are you in Emmerdale tonight ? Haven’t seen u in it forever (sic)"
The ‘Corrie’ star replied: "Yes I’m on emmerdale tonight, it’s a great episode, I feed a pig some bacon (sic)"
Should Jack one day appear in ‘Emmerdale’ – which was previously called ‘Emmerdale Farm’ – he wouldn’t be the first star to swap the Manchester cobbles for the Yorkshire Dales.
Chris Bisson portrayed Vikram Desai in ‘Corrie’ from 1999 to 2002 and now appears in ‘Emmerdale’ as Jai Sharma, who he has played since 2009.
Bill Ward has followed a similar career path, initially playing Weatherfield’s Charlie Stubbs from 2003 to 2007, and then Emmerdale’s James Barton from 2013 to 2017 until the character was killed off.
Michelle Hardwick – the village’s vet Vanessa Woodfield – was in ‘Corrie’ in 1997 as Sheila Dixon and in 1998 as Naomi Russell.
And numerous characters have stepped foot on the cobbles after appearing in ‘Emmerdale’.
And Claire King, who recently returned to ‘Emmerdale’ to reprise her role as soap super-bitch Kim Tate, portrayed Erica Holroyd on the cobbles from 2014 to 2017, and Beverley Callard made her TV debut as Angie Richards in ‘Emmerdale’ in 1983, but is now known for playing Liz McDonald in ‘Coronation Street’ since 1989.
