Jack Fincham kept his baby news a secret so that his ex could have a "peaceful pregnancy."
The ‘Love Island’ winner shocked his fans last week when he revealed he’d become a father for the first time to a baby girl called Blossom and he has admitted he didn’t want to tell anyone about the pregnancy at the time because he wanted his former flame Casey Ranger – who he had a fling with after splitting from Dani Dyer – to be left alone to grow their daughter.
Speaking to The Sun Online at the National Television Awards in London on Tuesday (28.01.20), he said: "I’m loving fatherhood. But not nappy changing – it stinks. I can’t stop staring at her though she’s beautiful.
"I kept the pregnancy a secret so her mum could have a peaceful pregnancy and she did."
"Everyone from ‘Love Island’ has been in touch to wish me well and it made me cry."
The 28-year-old hunk’s ex Dani – the daughter of Danny Dyer – had no idea he’d become a dad until he announced the birth of Blossom on social media on Saturday (25.01.20).
When asked if she knew about the baby, Dani said: "No of course not! No news! When everyone else found out, I found out."
However, she offered her congratulations to Jack, whom she dated for almost a year, saying: "Everyone loves a baby, congratulations!"
Jack announced his surprising baby news on Instagram over the weekend.
He wrote: "I’m normally a very open book and share most of my life on my social media. This blessing I chose not to. I’m just a normal geeza, who went on a tv show, which throws you straight into the public eye…which I will forever be grateful for. However I knew for myself I needed personal time and to keep this part of my life private to prepare for this new responsibility and part of me that will change my life forever.
"This is undoubtedly the best thing that has ever happened to me and it’s true what they say, the instant feeling of love and connection you have with your child is a feeling like no other.
"I want to thank my family and friends for your continued support, also to my little girls mother, who has been totally AMAZING throughout. Although we are not together we are great friends as we have been for many years and our priority is co-parenting our beautiful baby girl. Both mum and baby are doing great.
"I am now a proud dad to a healthy baby girl Blossom Fincham born 8lb 2oz on 24th January 2020 (sic)."
