Jack Derges to leave EastEnders

Jack Derges is leaving ‘EastEnders’.
The hunky actor – who plays sinister builder Andy Flynn – will exit the soap after his current storyline ends and is set to take up a role as a gay hustler called Cowboy in ‘The Boys In The Band’ in London’s West End.
A source told The Sun: "When Andy arrived, viewers didn’t realise he was hiding a dark secret, but over the past few weeks it has become clear his intentions towards Ronnie and her family are not what they seem.
"Andy was only ever going to be in ‘EastEnders’ for this story line, but it’s fair to say there is lots more drama to come before Andy leaves Walford."
And an ‘EastEnders’ spokesperson added: "The character of Andy was created for a specific storyline which is currently coming to the end.
"We wish Jack all the best for the future."
Andy arrived in the square earlier this year when he managed to persuade Ronnie Mitchell’s boyfriend Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to hire him as his property developer on his new home.
However, little did the businessman know that Andy is actually the adopted brother of Ronnie’s (Samantha Womack) dead daughter Danielle, who was run over and killed in 2009, and he’s now on a mission to get revenge on the blonde beauty.
And it was recently claimed that ‘EastEnders’ Dot Branning is set to save Ronnie from being brutally murdered by Andy.
The launderette worker – portrayed by June Brown – feels the need to intervene when she discovers the hunk has come up with a vindictive plan to take down the blonde bombshell after she rummages through his pocket and finds a note while washing his clothes.
