‘It was two years of hell’: Natalie Lowe opens up about miscarriages

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Natalie Lowe went through "two years of hell" after her miscarriages.

The 39-year-old ballroom dancer – who welcomed son Jack James Knibbs with husband James Knibbs last year – revealed she was left broken after previously suffering two miscarriages.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I want to be strong for other people because I was so weak. I just want people to know that there is hope.

"One in four pregnancies results in a loss and because I was not privy to that, I felt very alone, but you are not. It’s such a subject people don’t want to talk about, they don’t want to relive it, they don’t want to think about it.

"It was two years of hell for me and I just don’t want people to have to live like that, in silence. It can be really detrimental to your health, mentally, physically, emotionally."

Natalie left ‘Strictly’ in 2017 to focus on starting a family but when she suffered a miscarriage in 2018, she struggled because she had "too much time" to focus on her loss.

She explained: "I didn’t book any tours, I had no shows. I had no Strictly, I had no gig. I think time is the best healer. But too much time is actually damaging and dangerous.

"It was really damaging for me to not have anything, any purpose, anything to look forward to."

And Natalie was left heartbroken three months later when she lost another baby.

She said: "The second time just completely ruined me. There’s kind of no escape from that. And it was like history repeating itself. Again, I just put on a brave face, saying ‘I can do this’."
