Iron Maiden and All Time Low lead Kerrang! Awards 2016 nominations

Iron Maiden and All Time Low lead the Kerrang! Awards 2016 nominations with two nods each.
The ‘Run to the Hills’ hitmakers – fronted by Bruce Dickinson – have been nominated for Best Album for their 16th studio LP ‘The Book of Souls’ and will battle it out with Asking Alexandria’s ‘The Black’, No Devotion’s ‘Permanence’, Baroness’ ‘Purple’ and Neck Deep’s ‘Life’s Not Out To Get You’
They are also up for Best British Band, which sees them compete with Bring Me The Horizon, Biffy Clyro, Enter Shikari.
and Asking Alexandria at the ceremony which will be held at London’s Troxy on June 9.
All Time Low are to go head-to-head with heavy metal legends Metallica, PVRIS, A Day To Remember and Fall Out Boy for the Best International Band prize.
PVRIS have had a phenomenal last 12 months having performed on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ earlier this year and supported Bring Me The Horizon at the Royal Albert Hall for their Teenage Cancer Trust gig and frontwoman Lynn Gunn is keen to work with the band fronted by Oli Sykes.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I feel like it could be a really cool collaboration with Bring Me The Horizon. Jordan Fish at least. He brought a really cool element into that band. He showed us some of his older bands it was really cool."
All Time Low are also up for the Best Track accolade for ‘Missing You’ and will contest the category with Moose Blood for ‘Honey’, Against The Current for ‘Running With The Wild Things’,
Panic! At The Disco for ‘Emperor’s New Clothes’ and Architects for ‘A Match Made In Heaven’.
The reunited classic line-up of Guns N’ Roses – featuring Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan – are up for an accolade for Best Event for their Las Vegas concerts earlier this year.
The Kerrang! Awards 2016 will be hosted by Justin Hawkins of The Darkness and Skindred’s Benji Webb.
Talking about the nominations, Kerrang! Editor James McMahon said it’s going to be a one of the most hotly contended awards shows for a long time.
He said: "It’s going to be a bloodbath. Many brilliant bands are going to go home disappointed. I might start drinking now."
