‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ bosses are reportedly furious after their National Television Award was allegedly stolen during last week’s glamorous ceremony.
The creepy-crawly show bagged the prize for the Best Challenge Show at the prestigious television event in London just over a week ago, but bosses have now opened an inquiry after the trophy vanished after the evening came to a close.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The award was being passed around on the night of the NTAs. People were desperate to take a selfie with it and obviously with everyone sloshed it got lost.
"From next year they’ll be banned – they’re that angry. The trophy has gone walkies."
The producers have been ringing around last year’s contestants – who were posing for photos with the gong on the night – to ask them if they’ve accidentally taken it home.
Iain Lee – who was a camp mate last year – said: "One of the celebrities has stolen the NTA. The producers rang me up the day after. My money is on Dennis Wise.
"She said, ‘someone’s walked off with it and we don’t know where it is’. And I’m ringing round all of them, I don’t think it’s you, to see if they know where it was. I said, ‘no I haven’t got it. But I would say that, bearing in mind you’re talking to a strawberry thief’.
"One of the celebrities from ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ 2017 has stolen the National Television Award trophy."
Meanwhile, although their prize has gone walkabouts, the show’s hosts Ant and Dec are over the moon with the win and have admitted it "topped off" their year.
Ant said: "It has been quite a year but this has really topped it off. Possibly this year more than ever we thank you so much from the bottom of our heart. We love making ‘I’m A Celeb…’ Thank you for loving it too. We want to make it forever."
