Idina Menzel: Being engaged is a new beginning

Idina Menzel says her engagement to Aaron Lohr is a "new beginning".
The 45-year-old singer announced her engagement to the theatre star via Twitter on Friday (23.09.16), and has now revealed she is "super happy" as it feels like everything is "coming together" for her.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’ at the iHeart Radio Music Festival on Saturday (24.09.16), the ‘Frozen’ star said: "I’m super happy, yeah! Very happy. I’m happy because it’s all coming together, everything feels good. I went through a lot of stuff and its new beginnings."
However, the ‘Rent’ star – who divorced from actor Taye Diggs in 2014 – still has one more person she’d love to have some alone time with, U2 frontman Bono.
She revealed: "I’ve always said if I could do a duet with someone, it’d be Bono. My whole life, that’s all I’ve ever said. I still have not done a duet with him."
And the ‘Glee’ actress admits it’s her love of singing that encourages her to keep creating, and she was motivated to make her album by people who told her she didn’t have what it takes to break through into the pop genre.
She said: "It’s just what I’ve been wanting to do my whole life. Just make music and sing for a living. To get accolades is great, but it’s just the need to sing.
"Coming from the theatre, everybody always said you couldn’t break through with the pop thing and I always believed in myself that I could, so I appreciate people giving me a chance."
