Hugh Jackman doesn’t want to be humiliated on screen

Hugh Jackman works hard in the gym because he doesn’t want to humiliate himself on screen.
The 49-year-old actor is well known for putting his chiselled physique on display in hit movies like ‘Logan’, and Hugh has admitted fear drives his desire to remain in good shape.
He shared: "People always say to me, ‘Why are you in such good shape?’ and I always answer, ‘If I told you that you were going to be on film on a 40-foot screen with your shirt off, you’d be in good shape too.’"
Hugh previously starred as the Marvel character Wolverine in nine films, but he’s admitted to preferring how he played the role in his most recent, and last, effort in ‘Logan’.
He told Variety magazine: "I wish I’d started playing him like that 17 years ago.
"So there’s some sense of missed opportunity, but when I saw ‘Logan’, I sat there and I did have tears in my eyes. The main feeling I had was: ‘There, that’s the character. I feel like I’ve done it now.’ And I was calm and at peace, but I’m going to miss that guy."
Meanwhile, Hugh also conceded that the life-changing opportunity to play the part of Wolverine only came about by chance.
The award-winning star actually auditioned for the role nine months prior to getting it and had been rejected.
But recalling a chance visit to Hollywood, Hugh – who has two adopted children, Oscar and Ava, with his wife, Deborra-lee Furness – explained: "I was only in LA to do the paperwork for the adoption of my son.
"I had an agent at the time, and I gave him a ring and said, ‘I’m in town for a week. Is there anything I can read for?’ He said, ‘I’m hearing some whispers about [‘X-Men’] – let me make a few calls.’"
