Hugh Dancy has joined the cast of ‘Fifty Shades Darker’.
The 40-year-old actor has signed up to play bondage-loving billionaire Christian Grey’s psychiatrist Dr. John Flynn in the sequel to ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jamie Dornan’s Christian starts seeing the psychiatrist after his former lover, who introduced him to the world of S&M at the age of 15, returns and affects his relationship with Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).
The English-born therapist moved to Seattle after marrying an American woman so Hugh will be able to keep his own accent for the movie.
Hugh is currently starring on ‘The Path’ with Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan and previously received critical acclaim for his role on ‘Hannibal’.
James Foley is directing both ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ and ‘Fifty Shades Freed’, taking over from Sam Taylor-Johnson, with both movies currently shooting back to back in Vancouver.
Kim Basinger, Tyler Hoechlin, Rita Ora, and Marcia Gay Harden will all star in the sequels, based on the books written by EL James.
