Hollyoaks’ Ryan Knight to be serial killer

Hollyoaks’ Ryan Knight could become a serial killer.
Fans of the soap were left gripped to the edge of their seats after last night’s (10.10.17) E4 advanced viewing after they found out that the hunk – played by Duncan James – had actually murdered his wife Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) and had been concealing his dirty secret while watching police point the finger at other people.
But the 39-year-old actor-turned-singer has hinted that it may not be the end of the road for his evil alter-ego as he may decide to kill again in order to keep his secret hidden.
Speaking to the Metro.co.uk, Duncan said: "It’s so genius what is coming up – the plot still thickens over the next few months. There are so many twists to come – more will be revealed. He’s a very complex character and there is a lot of darkness in Ryan. His backstory comes out in the next few months – there’s a lot with his father that will make viewers understand why there is all of this darkness and deceit.
"How far does Ryan go to keep his secret – could he be killing more people? I don’t know! But with ‘Hollyoaks’, you never know what is going to happen – Mercedes has killed loads of people and she’s still there. With Ryan’s story, it all gets a lot more introverted and there’s so much more to tell so he’s not going anywhere yet."
However, the show’s producer Bryan Kirkwood has admitted that there will be an ending for Ryan as he can’t get away with his disgusting crimes forever.
He explained to BANG Showbiz: "We had a lot of very, very passionate rows between senior series producer Emily Gascoyne, series producer Vikki Tennant and story consultant Kev Rundle about who Amy’s killer should be. We knew we weren’t going to have Duncan around forever, more’s the pity, so we thought there was something quite delicious about taking a superstar like Duncan and turning him into a murderer!"
