Lucy-Jo Hudson says Mac Nightingale will "destroy" her character Donna-Marie Quinn.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress has opened up on the soap bombshell which saw Mac – played by David Easter – find out he’s the father of Donna-Marie’s daughter Juliet, and it appears she will regret getting him involved.
She told What’s On TV?: "He completely changes her world for the worse and preys on all her vulnerabilities. Donna-Marie seems all gob, face and ‘not bothered’ but actually we’re going to see Mac destroy her, he’s out to break her."
With his own son Aflie (Richard Linnell) leaving the village, Mac will focus on building a relationship with teenager Juliet.
However, Lucy-Jo has warned viewers that things will not go smoothly for her alter ego.
She revealed: "Oh yes, she’s going to regret ever getting involved with him. He is bad through and through and although she’s been a bad girl, at the end of the day she does have a heart."
She added that while Donna-Marie has had a tough upbringing and wants what’s best for her family, she has turned to the wrong man to provide for them.
She said: "She loves her kids but she’s completely messed up; she’s come from a a bad background and upbringing. All she wants is her family and a roof over her head and Mac provides that but at what cost?"
Meanwhile, Lucy-Jo previously admitted while she loves dressing up for her role on the Channel 4 soap, the former ‘Corrie’ star has found it her most "challenging" to date.
She explained: "I’ve loved joining ‘Hollyoaks’, the cast and crew are amazing, and I’ve absolutely loved playing such a reckless woman. I’ve never challenged myself like this before!
"I love how rough she looks too, with the greasy hair, pale face, and yellow teeth (that are fake by the way) are just amazing, and get me right into character."
