Hollyoaks’ star James Sutton has teased the arrival of his alter-ego John-Paul McQueen’s long-lost relative.
The Channel 4 soap is set to be shook up when "gobby" hairdresser Cher (Bethany Hare) turns up to Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Sylver McQueen’s (David Tag) wedding vow renewal to drop the bombshell that she is the latter’s daughter.
Speaking about the newest member of the family, James said: "She’s fitted in really well.
"Cher is from a similar background to the rest of the clan, she’s gobby, confident, outgoing, and even dresses like a McQueen!
"I would say there is a bit of a young Mercedes about her, which is nice."
The 37-year-old actor is full of praise for his co-star, who he described as "eager and enthusiastic".
He added to RadioTimes.com: "Bethany is such a sweetheart and a great addition to the cast.
"I think this is her first big high-profile acting job, she has a lovely energy about her and is eager and enthusiastic.
"She was filming for about a month or so and was having a ball before lockdown and we had to suspend filming. I’m sure she can’t wait to get back to work too, like the rest of us!"
On playing the role, Bethany added: "She definitely has an attitude and is so big on family.
"She’ll always be there for someone. I’m so excited to be joining the McQueens, everyone has been so nice and put me at ease."
