‘Hollyoaks’ bosses have teased plans for the show’s upcoming autumn stunt.
The Channel 4 soap’s annual spectacle is coming in October, and executive producer Bryan Kirkwood revealed the team are looking to give viewers the "best stunt yet" with promises of a "love story" and much more.
He told Digital Spy: "We’re really happy about October this year. We want to deliver our best stunt yet for the audience. Year after year, viewers tell us that the autumn stunt is one of the highlights of their enjoyment of the show.
"What’s fantastic this time is that we’ll be including some story threads which have been lying low, such as the paternity of DJ. We have a big love story that will explode, literally! And we have some eye-watering stunts as always.
"That leads into another great big story for characters connected to the stunt week, so it’s a really big October for the show."
Gary Lucy is set to return full time as Luke Morgan, and while viewers know he is baby DJ’s father, his other son Ollie (Aedan Duckworth) has lied about the DNA test results and claimed Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) is the dad.
Meanwhile, there are also plans to bring back two favourites alongside a big guest spot in 2020 as the show celebrates its 25th anniversary.
A source told Metro.co.uk: "As ‘Hollyoaks’ approaches the 25th anniversary with huge stories building now it’s an appealing point to return to the show which is firing on all cylinders.
"The guest casting will heighten the temperature – which is quite the challenge when you look at the start of Six Weeks Of Summer!"
