Hollyoaks’ Annie Wallace backs James Moore

‘Hollyoaks’ star Annie Wallace has backed James Moore for his "fab" ‘Emmerdale’ portrayal.
The 53-year-old actress – who plays Sally St. Claire in the Channel 4 soap – has voiced her support for the Dales newcomer (Ryan Stocks) after he encouraged fans to not let a disability stop them from achieving their dreams.
She wrote on Twitter: "Loving this, James… doing fab on @emmerdale! (sic)"
James – who, like his character, has cerebral palsy – had responded to a fan who admitted they felt "proud" after his alter-ego said he doesn’t have problems.
The message read: "@jamesmooreactor is amazing in scenes with Emma "Problems? I’ve not got problems." its making me proud as disabled viewer to hear that. My whole life I’ve had to fight to do stuff and hear but what about?. To know younger people will hear that & can see it doesn’t define you. (sic)"
The actor replied: "Love this. Don’t ever let disability stop you from achieving your dreams. You can do anything. (sic)"
However, some viewers have complained to James on social media, claiming they cannot understand him on the soap.
In response, he took to Twitter to post a picture showing how they can turn on English subtitles on their TV sets.
He wrote: "To everyone who says they can’t understand me in Emmerdale, I have compiled this easy to use guide for your viewing pleasure. Simply set the option to ‘English ‘ and enjoy.
"Just to clarify- I’m not bothered, I just thought this was funny (sic)"
Following the post, James was inundated with compliments.
One fan replied: "I can understand every word you say perfectly. So either I have some kind of Superman hearing power I didn’t know about or these people complaining are just trolling. Please don’t pay attention to them. You are apsolutely brilliant (sic)"
James then wrote: "Thanks for all the positive responses guys – I understand people telling me to ignore stuff but change only happens when you speak up! (sic)"
