Hollyoaks’ Anna Passey ‘worried’ about new Sienna Blake direction

Anna Passey was "worried" about her ‘Hollyoaks’ character’s recent new direction, for fear viewers would "miss" her "dark side".
The 34-year-old actress’ alter-ego Sienna Blake has had a tough time in the village but she recently landed a job as a teacher and started making "better decisions", but Anna was concerned fans wouldn’t react too well to her character’s life changes.
She said: "The last few months really have been a bit of a new age for Sienna. She’s working as a teacher, a job that she loves and is good at.
"When they took this new direction with her I was a little worried as I thought the viewers would miss that darker side to her but I’ve been so lucky, they just seem to love Sienna.
"I think it’s because they’ve been there with her, they’ve witnessed everything she’s been through."
However, sly Sienna is still lurking as she hatches a plan to kidnap a set of twins who she believes are her own children, Sophie and Sebastian, who were taken away from her by evil Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas).
Anna said: "Since she started working at the school she’s managed to pick her life up. And what we’re seeing now is a really tough and strong Sienna.
"She’s making much better decisions. Whether she makes the right choice about kidnapping the twins is another matter. The old Sienna is still in there."
The plot will see a brief return for Jamie before a lengthier comeback later this year, and Anna is pleased to be working alongside the former ‘EastEnders’ star again.
She added to the Daily Star newspaper: "It’s all really exciting and of course I love working with Jamie so I’m very much looking forward to his full-time return."
