Adam Woodward collapsed at his home because he was in so much pain from a fall.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actor – who has played Brody Hudson for over two years on the Channel 4 soap – has opened up about the real life ordeal as he found himself "unable to move" the morning after an incident the previous day.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday (04.12.19), he wrote: "I fell over yesterday and banged myself up worse than I thought.
"This morning I woke up with so much back pain that when I tried to stand I collapsed and passed out. I was stuck on the floor when I came round unable to move. (sic)"
The soap star revealed his girlfriend Sophie Porley – who played Ellie Nightingale on the show – had to call an ambulance for him, and he heaped praise on the work the NHS does.
He continued: "@SophiePorley called an ambulance for me. After a little while they came and helped me get to my feet with pain killers, gas and air and a helping hand.
"Despite still being banged up I am forever grateful for our NHS and the fantastic work they do.
"Thank you to those paramedics! Our NHS must be saved for the many"
While his fellow actors – including Anna Passey (Sienna Blake) and Luke Jerdy (Jesse Donovan) showed their concern on social media, Adam added he was coping after "lots of pain killers" and is on the mend.
Responding to co-star Amanda Clapham (Holly Cunningham), he later tweeted: "Getting there thanks mand (sic)"
