Holly Willoughby ‘riddled with guilt’ as a working mum

Holly Willoughby has been "riddled with guilt" about being a working mum.

The ‘This Morning’ presenter – who has kids Chester, five, Belle, nine, and Harry, 11, with husband Dan Baldwin – has admitted striking a balance between going to work and looking after her children has been her "biggest challenge".

She told Red magazine: "Becoming a mum was the only thing I knew I definitely wanted when I was growing up, but the image I had never involved me being a working mum. That’s the biggest challenge.

"I’ve been riddled with guilt about getting that part wrong. You love them so much and you don’t want to mess them up."

The 39-year-old star has presented the ITV daytime show since 2009, but its 10am start means she has to skip the school drop-off to be in the studio on time, and is worried she won’t be able to make up for lost time.

She added: "I didn’t do the drop-off because I was working.

"I hate that I wasn’t there because those memories you can’t get back."

Holly also hosts various evening shows including ‘Dancing on Ice’, but made the decision to quit ‘Celebrity Juice’ last month after 12 years on the panel to spend more time with her family at home in the evenings.

A source revealed: "Holly has absolutely loved her time on the show – it’s been a huge part of her life, and has really helped to expand her fanbase over the years.

"But she feels now is the right time to bow out and wants to free up a bit more of her busy schedule to spend with her family."

But, during her final appearance on the ITV2 show, which was filmed during the coronavirus lockdown from home, she said it won’t be the last time she joins pal and host Keith Lemon on the programme.

Keith told Holly: "We’ve had some fun times over the past 12 years, haven’t we?

"I’m going to miss you."

And the blonde beauty replied: "We have. I’m going to miss you too! Lots!"

And when Keith asked Holly if she’ll be back to "make special appearances", she promised: "Absolutely!

"Try and keep me away. I will be back.

"Obviously, I won’t be team captain anymore, because that role will be going to someone very lucky, but I will be back. I will be on the panel."
