Holly Willoughby felt ’emotional’ as youngest son starts school

Holly Willoughby was "more emotional" than she thought she would be when she dropped off her son Chester for his first day at school on Monday (02.09.19).
The 38-year-old presenter made her return to the ITV daytime programme today with her co-host Phillip Schofield and she told viewers it had been an "eventful morning" because she had been down to the school gates before heading back to the show’s famous sofa to see four-year-old Chester head into class.
Holly – who also has son Harry, 10, and daughter Belle, eight, with her husband Dan Baldwin – admits she felt a pang of sadness as her youngest child went inside the school because her "final baby has left the nest".
She said: "I’ve had quite an eventful morning because I took Chester to school this morning … My final baby has left the nest. He was quite nervous actually, he didn’t want to get in the car. I was more emotional than I thought I [would be]. I thought he was going to be fine, I thought he was just going to breeze in, but he was a little bit nervous. He’s only in until midday today so while we’re on the show I’ll find out how he got on."
Phillip, 57, admitted he didn’t have a great night’s sleep on Sunday evening (01.09.19) because he was nervous about returning to ‘This Morning’ after the duo’s seven-week summer break.
He said: "It’s a little bit like an out of body experience. I didn’t sleep very well last night."
And Holly also struggled to have a satisfying slumber, adding: "I didn’t either and I couldn’t tell whether it was because of Chester’s first day of school, Arthur’s first day of term, or us back here together. So I was thinking about everything. But you’re here and that makes everything alright."
Holly and Phillip signed off from ‘This Morning’ in mid-July handing hosting duties over to husband and wife duo Eamonn Holmes, 58, and Ruth Langsford, 59, who are the regular replacements for them.
