Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield leave This Morning for the summer

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have left ‘This Morning’ for the summer.
The presenting duo – who usually front the show Monday through to Thursday – will take a six-week break from now until September so that they can be with their children over the warmer months, but viewers won’t miss out on their brunch time fix as Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who host the programme on Fridays, will be filling in.
As today’s show (14.07.17) drew to a close, Holly said: "Right, we’re off for a few weeks now but the rest of the team will still be here to take you through the summer. Coming up with Eamonn and Ruth on Monday is Lynda Bellingham’s widower Michael Pattemore breaks his silence on his rift with her two sons, chef John Torode is in the kitchen and there’s music from icon Boy George, he’s live from the studio."
Phillip added: "We are back in September. Have an amazing summer, lots of love."
While Eamonn and Ruth will be covering the programme Mondays until Thursdays over the next month and a half, it’s not yet known who will take over the reins on the Fridays.
However, it’s believed Rylan Clark-Neal will join forces with Alison Hammond to become the temporarily stand-in hosts over the summer.
A source said previously: "Alison and Rylan went down a storm with viewers when they hosted, albeit very briefly, last October.
"There is no danger of them usurping Phil and Holly – or Eamonn and Ruth – but bosses are looking at giving them one-off stints if Friday goes just as well."
The funny duo went down a storm with viewers last October when they filled in for during the Halloween special and were heavily praised for their on-screen chemistry.
Alison has been a regular fixture on ‘This Morning’ since 2003 and has interviewed many high-flying celebrities during her time as a showbiz reporter.
Rylan, on the other hand, presents the showbiz segment every day and has even fronted the main show in the past with his husband Dan Neal – a move that made television history as they became the first gay couple to ever host the show.
