‘Holby City’s Amy Marston has joined ‘EastEnders’.
The star – who portrayed Nicola Davis in an episode of the medical drama in 2014 – will bound on to Albert Square later this month after being cast as Jenny, the strong-willed mother of Paul Coker (Jonny Labey), but things don’t go according to plan as she gets the cold shoulder from her family.
Jenny arrives in Walford on July 12 hoping to make amends with her son but is given a stark awakening when Paul’s grandparents Les and Pam Coker (Roger Sloman and Lin Blakley, respectively) warn her that she needs to leave.
It’s not yet known what the outcome will be for Jenny but it’s believed her arrival will pave the way for Paul’s departure as Jonny announced earlier this year that he’s decided to quit.
The 23-year-old actor is set to bow out of BBC One soap as gay hairdresser Paul later this summer following just over a year in the role in order to focus on musical theatre.
Jonny told bosses he was leaving the show a few months ago after he landed the lead part in the upcoming play ‘Verge of Strife’ at the Assembly George Square Studios during the Edinburgh Festival 2016 this August.
