Helen Lederer is set to join ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ actress was rumoured to be entering this year’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house but reportedly pulled out at the last minute after she was offered a large sum of money by the rival show to compete in the forthcoming series in Australia.
And it seems the 61-year-old comedienne’s stint in the jungle is now a done deal as, according to The Sun newspaper, she’s already scribbled her name on the contract provided by ITV.
News of Helen’s big-money deal comes after she recently admitted that she would likely be a nervous wreck if she entered ‘CBB’s infamous abode and she’s not keen on the idea of sharing her waterworks or acid tongue with the nation.
Addressing rumours she had signed up, she said earlier this year: "Yes [I am rumoured to being going on ‘CBB’, if you want a nervous breakdown in public… but there’s nothing official.
"I have no desire to cry and show my nasty side. The thought of a day without wine or a Biro… the mental deprivation… I did ‘Splash!’ [in 2013] where you dive for money – that was very depressing. I just thought, ‘Oh f**k…’ "
Meanwhile, a whole host of stars are rumoured to be heading into the jungle this year, including Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s estranged husband Jean-Bernard, Ukip leader Nigel Farage, Spencer Matthews and ‘The Only Way is Essex’s James ‘Arg’ Argent.
