Helen Flanagan’s partner nearly missed birth

Helen Flanagan’s partner almost missed the birth of their child.
The 28-year-old actress gave birth to her second daughter Delilah, who she shares with Scott Sinclair, earlier this year – and the ‘Coronation Street’ star has revealed that the footballer was close to not making it to the birth of their baby.
In an interview with OK!! magazine, she said: "Delilah’s birth was so quick – Scott almost missed it."
Scott said: "Helen texted me when she got down to the hospital telling me to come down when I finished training, and within half an hour I had another text saying, ‘You need to get here now!’
"In the car on the way she must have called me six times telling me to hurry up, which panicked me a bit! I got there an hour later Delilah was born."
Helen, who is mother to three-year-old Matilda, wanted to give birth in a natural way and opted for a water birth – and although the brunette beauty loved her birth, she admitted it was much more painful than her last.
She said: "I felt very anxious during my pregnancy about giving birth naturally, so I had mentioned to Scott that I’d like a cesarean section – but when I read there was a six week recovery time, I realised it was unrealistic with Matilda to look after too.
"I opted for a water birth instead, which I loved. Luckily my labour went really well, although it was much more painful than my first birth. At points I felt like I was about to explode because my contractions were so intense."
Helen used just gas and air for pain relief, and 29-year-old Scott helped his partner though the birth by trying to focus on her breathing and relaxing her.
He said: "It was horrible seeing her in pain and not being able to do anything about it. All I could do was concentrate on helping her get her breathing right and trying to calm her down. "
