Helen Flanagan is expecting a baby girl.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress and the Celtic footballer – who have two-year-old daughter Matilda together – were given the exciting news in an envelope from their clinic, but instead of opening the message they handed the note to hotel staff in Dubai to surprise them with during their recent holiday.
She said: "They put balloons in a big, decorated box which was brought into the restaurant. We unwrapped it and, when the lid came off, pink balloons floated out.
"We would have been thrilled if it was a girl or a boy, I’m just lucky to be able to have a baby. I will love this baby just as much as I do Matilda."
Helen is hoping to have a natural birth but is quite happy to have "whatever drugs they offer" her in hospital, as long as the couple’s little one is healthy.
She said: "I’m aiming to have as natural a birth as possible, but as long as the baby is fine I’m happy to have whatever drugs they offer.
"You don’t get a medal at the end for how much pain you’ve endured."
Helen and Scott are already planning to have a third child, but the 27-year-old actress doesn’t want to get pregnant again for at least another couple of years, and she has been dropping hints for the former Aston Villa star to pop the question.
She added to OK! magazine: "I definitely want another baby but I’m going to wait until I’m in my thirties, after we’re married.
"I’ve pointed Scott in the right direction for an engagement ring.
"We’ve been together for nearly nine years and we’ll soon have two kids, so it’s about time. But I want to have a romantic proposal, first of all."
