Harry Reid has joined the cast of ‘Cinderella’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor will tread the boards at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, Kent, later this year in the role of Dandini in the seasonal production.
He wrote on Twitter: "We shall go to the ball indeed! Delighted to announce I will be joining up with @pantomimes for ‘Cinderella’ playing Dandini, performing at @marlowetheatre from November 23rd – January 6th for my first panto!! (sic)"
Harry – who is best known for his role of Ben Mitchell in the BBC soap – was unveiled as part of a stellar cast, with former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Sally Lindsay set to play the Fairy Godmother, and ‘Mister Maker’ star Phil Gallagher will take on the classic role of Buttons.
The panto’s writer, co-producer and director, Paul Hendy has paid tribute to the three stars, who join regulars Ben Roddy and Lloyd Hollett (the Ugly Stepsisters), while Cara Dudgeon and Oliver Watton have been announced as Cinderella and Prince Charming.
He said: "We’re thrilled that Harry, Phil and national treasure Sally are joining us. They’re great performers with lots of talent, energy and incredible stage presence.
"This year, we have an incredibly talented cast and I aim to make this production of Cinderella the most magical pantomime of all."
Harry left ‘EastEnders’ earlier this year to star in theatre production ‘Witness For The Prosecution’, but recently admitted he is keen to reprise his role at some point.
